The Christian Life Centre is run by Patrick Mwafute and his wife,Beatrice. She is
a Tutsi and her family were killed during the Rwandan massacres. Their compound provides accommodation
for 44 boys, a mixture of street children and orphans. Like the Hisani and Watoto orphanges the accomodation is
overcrowded and with only one toilet. We simply do not have the resources to include them in our re-building programme.
When we visited they asked us to supply them with blankets and mosquito nets. Yes, it does
get cold at night, even at the Equator. Mosquito nets are essential to protect the chidren from malaria-carrying
mosquitoes when they are asleep. We were happy to make this small contribution to the chidren's welfare.
