Colin McArdle Ph.D., B.Sc., A.R.C.S. is co-founder and Chair of Kids Aid Tanzania.
He began his working life as a university lecturer in Nigeria and then returned to the UK to work for Rolls
Royce. He then became a management consultant with clients including the World Bank and the UK government.
He took early retirement in 1996 and served as Chief Finance Officer for the Anglican Church of Papua New Guinea for 3 years.
KIds Aid Tanzania was an outcome of a development plan prepared for Hisani following a volunteering visit in January 2005.

Eileen McArdle B.A., P.C.E. is Secretary of Kids Aid Tanzania
and a co-founder of Kids Aid Tanzania. She is married to Colin and accompanied him to Nigeria, Papua New Guinea
and Tanzania. She is a qualified secondary school teacher and taught at this level in the first two of these countries.
She also has many years experience of teaching English to immigrants from Asia and Africa who have come to live in the UK.

The
Rev'd Valerie Hart RSCN, M.Ed., M.Sc. is Treasurer of Kids Aid Tanzania.
Following an initial career in paediatric nursing she joined the British Red Cross rising to become a regional director.
She had a specific responsibility for training relating to HIV/AIDS. She is an ordained minister of the Church
of England following a period as manager of Children First Derby,a charity concerned with supporting vulnerable children,
their parents and other family members.

Richard Jones MBA, now retired, was formerly Chief
Executive of Derby Community Transport and, previous to that, of The Padley Group, both large Derby based registered
charities. He has worked in the voluntary sector for the last 15 years and is on the Board of Derbyshire
Association for the Blind and CETA St James. He also brings 35 years of business experience in sub-Saharan Africa,
the USA, Europe and the UK and has been actively involved in Lions International during this period.

Vanessa Hughes is a retired primary school headteacher and presently a mentor for
Post Graduate Certificate of Education students. She is a past volunteer at the Hisani orphanage and is responsible for the
design of the teaching programme at the Hisani and Watoto orphanages, which she has visited three times. She has recently undertaken
an educational project in Rwanda through Voluntary Service Overseas

Phil Hughes is married to Vanessa and has recently retired after a career with British
Airways followed by 7 years as an independent IT consultant. He has a keen interest in sport, ran a junior football team for
8 years and recently took up running, raising over $2,800 for Christian Aid through taking part in the London Marathon. He
has accompanied Vanessa on her three visits to Mwanza and provided help in improving the financial and general records systems
at the orphanages.
